Affliction: Trilogy has official been canceled and the first thing that sprung to my head was Affliction falling, Fedor to UFC? Sounds about right if you ask me. But that’s not all; this is one big cock up by Affliction and Josh Barnett, Partly Josh Barnett. You can’t just cancel an event, I mean…What about the fighters who have worked there asses of training for the past 3 months? And how are they going to get paid now? Imo affliction stick to clothes, because at MMA you just don’t have the passion for events and organization.
Fighters and managers were being notified of the situation early Friday morning. I think many fighters and managers will be disappointed after all the hard training that they have put in at there camps.
Many hard core fans put this Blame down to Josh Barnett, because he tested positive for steroids, stupid I know. But I can fully see where many fans are coming from when they say Josh Barnett, you have fucked an event everybody was looking forward too and you’ve fucked your career. Promoters scrambled to find a replacement opponent for Emelianenko and reportedly considered middleweight Vitor Belfort, light heavyweight prospect Muhammed Lawal and heavyweights Brett Rogers, Paul Buentello, Jeff Monson and Bobby Lashley.
