UFC 103 has finally added one awesome main event, it’s about time UFC 103 got a main event and It’s officially been announced that Henderson will go against Franklin and the winner of that fight will face off against Anderson Silva for the Title. Franklin and Henderson met at UFC 93 in January with Henderson picking up a split-decision win, furthermore many people thought that Franklin should of got this win.
The UFC has no clarified whether the fights will meet at light heavyweight or middleweight (or even a catch-weight). I think they will fight at middleweight furthermore I believe this because the winner of this fight will go against anderson silva for the middleweight belt. UFC announced that franklin wanted a main-event slot at UFC 103, As reported last week the former UFC middleweight champion is in Las Vegas to negotiate a new deal directly within the UFC. Franklin currently has just one fight remaining on his UFC contract, never the less Franklin needs a new contract in place before his next fight against henderson.
Franklin is hesistent to get back in the ring with Henderson to revenge his loss at UFC 93, Franklin most recently had a bout at UFC 99 against Wanderlei Silva and Franklin picked up the win via Decision. Franklins boxing looked great, furthermore Rich won with the split decision via scores of 29-28, 29-28 and a surprising 27-30. Henderson looked to have clearly won the first round, and Franklin (despite suffering a deep and accidental eye poke late in the round) appeared to clearly win the third. The second round has been the most debated, though two of the judges ultimately went with Henderson.
Henderson is coming of a vicious and dominate win over Michael Bisping at UFC 100. It was an amazing knockout, Henderson picked up his 3rd consecutive win within the UFC. Henderson has been speaking of a rematch but proclaims he has not asked for one, Henderson in every MMA fan’s opinion deserves a title shot rematch against Anderson Silva at Middleweight, concluding this statement he lost to anderson back in March 2008.
Furthermore Silva is currently training for his fight against former Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin at UFC 101 in a non-title fight next month. It’s very likely Henderson will get his title shot if he picks up the win against Franklin at UFC 103. The UFC also today officially announced a long rumored bout between Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic (25-6-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) and Junior Dos Santos (8-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC).

This fight is going to be awesome, henderson showed that he’s going no where after the knockout he gave bisping. I can’t wait to see this fight it’s going to be phenomenal.
